Tania has a lifelong passion for the environment which turned into a career in ecology and environmental education, both within schools and the wider community and business sectors. Never one to shy away from a challenge, Tania has been supporting people to find solution to environmental issues, and creating positive outcomes. With a masters in science, majoring in conservation biology, Tania says her strongest calling has always been to enhance the New Zealand’s freshwater environments.

Tania has spent 10 years as project manager for the Maketu Ongatoro Wetland Society; while also undertaking roles that saw her work with council staff, not-for-profit organisation and landowners to achieve common goals. Her family have relocated to the Central North Island to live the kiwi dream, on a rural property near the Whakapapa River – allowing Tania to enjoy her passions of horse-riding and skiing.
