Nicole understands rural issues and practical solutions from her farming roots and local government land management experience.

A passion for the environment led Nicole to pursue science at university, where she studied the ecology of estuarine and lagoon systems. Her research has given her first-hand experience of the importance of managing land use throughout the length of a catchment.

Working alongside individuals and communities, being out amongst Otago's diverse environments, and providing advice to enhance land, water quality, and biodiversity outcomes is both a challenge and an opportunity. Nicole regularly holds events including forums, workshops and field days to help educate and inform people on the catchments around Otago.

Nicole enjoys time in her garden, helping on her family's farm or volunteering for community initiatives outside of work.
