Canterbury
Regional Coordinator: Jo Buckner
From Kaikoura and North Canterbury to South Canterbury, the Waitaki Valley and inland to the MacKenzie Basin, landowners and communities are working together to improve sustainable land management, protect biodiversity while enhancing the needs of the environment.
New regulations across the different zones require farmers to not only increase adoption of good management practices but to also reduce losses of nutrients. Many farmers are adopting innovative ways of meeting these new challenges.
Many landowners and communities are working collaboratively with sector organisations and stakeholders to share knowledge and support each other to improve their environments.
Jo Buckner is able to support these groups with Landcare Networking Days, Catchment Forums, and promotion of Good management practices.
