Volunteers Wanted - Stoney Creek Planting Day

Volunteers Wanted - Stoney Creek Planting Day

Volunteers are wanted for a riparian planting day at Manawatu's Stoney Creek on June 25.

Here’s another opportunity to participate in catchment care work to help restore the Stoney Creek catchment!

North Grove Dairy, situated just north of Ashhurst, will hold a planting day on Tuesday June 25, working with the NZ Landcare Trust.

The event will begin at 9.30am and go until 3pm. Bring you own lunch/snacks, gloves, appropriate clothes for getting dirty, gumboots, spade). Also bring wet weather gear in case it rains. Planting will go ahead rain or shine unless the weather is really bad.

Volunteers will need to turn up on time on the day – to be taken to the site, but if anyone needs to leave early, you will easily be able to find your way back to the cars. If you have to come late, you'll need to contact Alastair Cole so he can arrange for someone to meet you and direct you to the rest of the group.

The meeting point is along the driveway opposite the entrance to dairy shed, number 26449, on Colyton Road (On Google Maps the dairy shed address is 1277 Colyton Road) . You can come down that drive and will likely be able to park in the paddock if it’s not too wet.

Interested? For further information and to register your interest please contact Alastair Cole, phone 021 168 4353 or email [email protected], by Monday June 24.
