Projects

Projects tend to be larger scale operations, sometimes dealing with landcare problems at a ‘catchment level’. They often involve multiple agencies working together with landowners, farmers and landcare groups.

These projects are funded using three main sources:

  • MAF; Sustainable Farming Fund
  • MfE; Sustainable Management Fund
  • DOC; Biodiversity Advice Fund

The navigation system on the left gives access to more specific information on the different types of funding and highlights some of our projects.

Groups

We are involved with more than 150 landcare groups across the country. These groups are driven by the passions and interests of local communities, groups of people who want to make a positive difference to their local environment.

The role of NZ Landcare Trust is to provide advice and direction. Our experience can help gain funding to start and maintain the group. Once up and running we can provide the latest scientific advice on ‘best practice’ and help deal with a range of practical and administrative matters.
