NZ Landcare Trust is working with the Enviroschools network to deliver this competition - www.enviroschools.org.nz

Logo Competition.

Background.

NZ Landcare Trust is creating a national landcare book called 'Landcare: A Practical Guide' . It will be launched at the National Agricultural Fieldays, Mystery Creek, Hamilton in 2010.  It will help farmers, landowners and community groups better understand the benefits of sustainable land management. The project is funded by our sponsors, Transpower.

Our organisation is dedicated to harnessing community involvement and we thought it would be a great idea to ask environmentally aware students to design a symbol that we could use as the logo for the guide. We approached the Enviroschools network with our ideas for a competition and they agreed to get involved.

The Challenge.

Students are asked to design a symbol that will be used as part of the logo for a new national publication called ‘Landcare: A Practical Guide’. The symbol should aim to reinforce the contents of the publication and engage the target audience.

There is no restriction on the use of materials or mediums; crayons to computer, we want to see where your creativity takes you!  Some ideas include coloured pencils, felt tip pens, pastels, gouache, crayons, watercolour paint, graphic markers, ink, paper montage, acrylic paint, photoshop, illustrator, corel draw…

The original design/art work should be a maximum size of 20 x 20cm. However designs will need to be bold enough to work effectively once reduced to the final print size of 3cm x 3cm. Design work must be robust enough to withstand scanning and transfer into a digital environment.

Deadline: Friday 26th March 2010
