Grants
are available to non-profit, community groups for projects that enhance sustainable
land management or biodiversity on private rural land.
Components of biodiversity within sustainable land management outcomes will also be considered.
The
NZ Landcare Trust initiated the grants programme, and will manage it.
The programme has been made possible by sponsorship by Transpower New Zealand,
operator of national electricity grid.
The
NZ Landcare Trust fosters sustainable land management in New
Zealand by working with landcare groups, recreational interests, iwi, farming
groups, and community environmental groups to succeed with an 'action on the ground' outcome.
Transpower
recognises its responsibility to contribute to the communities in which it operates
and where its staff and customers live and work. Transpower
is proud to support the Transpower Landcare Trust Grants Programme, which supports
the promotion of sustainable land management and is helping Transpower continue
to build positive and effective working relationships with rural New Zealand.
