Working every day with rural communities throughout New Zealand, Transpower
understands the value of positive and effective working relationships with these communities.
Issues that are important to rural communities are important to Transpower. They are committed to maintaining a positive balance between a successful, effective business, care and maintenance of the environment while ensuring sustainable use of resources and promotingenvironmentally responsible communities.

Becoming a major supporter of the New Zealand Landcare Trust has been a positive

move for Transpower and the partnership provides the opportunity to be able to build positive relationships with a diverse range of rural community groups.

Understanding the importance of sustainable land use is an important land issue and Transpower also understands that they will have much to learn about sustainable land management. Transpower is committed to funding a number of key rural projects, which includes the Transpower, Landcare Trust Grants Programme to support and promote sustainable land use in areas where Transpower has a physical presence.
