(Published on 27th June 2017)

NZ Landcare Trust is seeking to recruit a highly motivated 'people person' to fill a part time (20 hours per week) position as Project Coordinator for a new three year project working with farmer driven catchment groups in Southland.

The Southland Project Coordinator will work alongside catchment groups and build an inclusive relationship with other parties including agencies, stakeholders and sector groups, and the wider community. The aim is to integrate good management practices at a catchment scale, encouraging sustainable land use and land management. The coordinator will work with land users, industry, local authorities, research providers, businesses, non-government agencies, iwi, schools and local community people.

The successful applicant will need strong facilitation, networking and communication skills. The position requires a technical understanding of land use and water management issues. Experience with catchment management initiatives would be particularly advantageous. The ability to work with farmers, landowners and communities is essential to the role.

This is a part time, fixed term position offering flexibility and variety. We offer a great working environment with the support of an innovative team.
