NZ Landcare Trust moves from Northland

After nearly 20 years of operating in Northland, NZ Landcare Trust is stepping away from the region – but leaving it in the very capable hands of Kiwi Coast, who it has worked with for many years.

NZ Landcare Trust has funding from Ministry for the Environment for seven regions around the country, and with a growing need in the Hawke’s Bay, the focus is now shifting to there – however, Trust CEO Nick Edgar says that Northland is in the very capable hands of local Kiwi Coast coordinator Ngaire Tyson who worked for the Trust over the past few years.

“We are very confident in withdrawing from Northland as we have Ngaire up there who we have worked with for some time, and will be continuing her work, now with Kiwi Coast. Landcare and community groups can contact Ngaire for support, and continue those great relationships she has built over the past few years.”

“We are really proud of the work that we achieved while in the Northland region, and we hope that we can build on that with our work in the Hawke’s Bay.”

NZ Landcare Trust currently covers the Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Manawatu/Whanganui, Nelson/Marlborough, Canterbury and Otago regions, and will be opening its Hawke’s Bay office in the near future.
