Communications Manager Fly Fishes South

(Published on 29th November 2017)

The NZ Landcare Trust's loss is Taupo Fishery Management’s gain.  Experienced Communications Manager, James Barnett, left NZ Landcare Trust in late October to take up his dream job - combing communications and trout fishing in the Lake Taupo region.

When James first arrived, the Trust was transitioning its Head Office from Christchurch to Hamilton. During his time he developed the Trust's current website and has edited many landcare publications and lead successful campaigns.  Amongst these are Landcare: A Practical Guide (2010), the Waikato River Restoration Bi-lingual Guide (2014) and the Community-owned Rural Catchment Management Guide for Partners (2012).  He also headed the Trust's national Communities for Clean Water campaign (2014) which aimed to incorporate more urban communities in its reach.

We wish James all the best in his new role and thank him for his dedication and commitment to the NZ Landcare Trust for nearly a decade.

While the NZ Landcare Trust will seek a replacement for James in the New Year, communication via our website and social media will continue as required.
