Ag Art Wear 2011

(Published on 25th October 2011)

NZ Landcare Trust were major sponsors of  this years AgArtWear, the wearable arts event that adds a splash of colour and creativity to the National Agricultural Fieldays.

The Trust also proudly sponsors the Landcare Awareness category, designed to highlight Landcare issues in New Zealand. The quality of entries was very high and presented a challenge for the judges.

There can only be one winner and this year it was Koraha Whakapaipai (Wilderness Jewels) by Nina McBeth. Congratulations to Nina on producing an excellent garment that successfully reflected landcare issues.

Nina responded "I am passionate about various land and environmental issues that we have here (in New Zealand) so it was so enjoyable for me to be able to put together a piece that displayed the natural beauties that we have out there."

Second place went to Pingao Maiden by Tracey Brown and in third place was Kokiri Aroha (Spiral of Love) by Bill and Rose Paul.
